Pilates

What is Pilates?

Joseph Pilates pioneered the Pilates Method in the 1920s. It is a low-impact body conditioning and postural alignment exercise technique. Pilates consists of many exercises, some of which are floor work exercises and some of which use Pilates equipment. Pilates needs no prior exercise experience, is safe for all fitness levels from those with pain and injury to those who are elite athletes. Pilates is also a safe method of exercise during pregnancy. Pilates tones and conditions the deeper abdominal muscles, alleviates back and neck pain, improves the support of the lower back, relaxes tense neck and shoulder muscles, increases flexibility and improves posture. It is the ultimate exercise program for core stabilisation.

At Central Coast Pilates we have the full compliment of Pilates Studio equipment in our state of the art studio. Our equipment is of the highest standard and predominantly imported from the United States of America. .

In the Pilates studio environment the equipment is utilised to support, assist, vary  or challenge the body depending on the needs of the individual. In our studio your exercise program is designed specifically to your level and needs. This ensures a safe, effective Pilates exercise program.
